Data quality
The quality measures we publish for every dataset, how they are calculated and their limits.
We publish measurements, not adjectives. Every dataset page includes a data quality report calculated from the files currently for sale.
Measures we publish
- Field coverage โ the percentage of records with a value. Individual-contact datasets lead with phone, city, region, postcode and email; business datasets with company, phone, email, website and category.
- Country-code formatting โ the share of phone values written in international format.
- Malformed phone values โ phone values with an impossible number of digits.
- Exact duplicate rows found inside packs.
- Malformed rows with more values than columns.
- Record counts per pack and in total.
- Version and last processed date.
Limits of these measures
- Coverage tells you a value is present, not that it is current or correct.
- Exact-duplicate detection does not catch near duplicates (the same person or business written differently).
- Contact information changes constantly โ people move and change numbers, businesses open and close โ so any dataset gradually goes out of date.
For this reason we do not claim 100% accuracy. We recommend buying the trial or a single pack and testing a random sample before larger purchases. Our guide on measuring contact database quality explains how.
If a pack is not as described
If a file is corrupted, unreadable, or materially different from the published structure, we replace the pack or refund you. See the refund & replacement policy.
